SPANX! They’ve got your butt covered!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Ever wonder if celebs ever actually wear underwear? I mean, there’s never a panty or bra line that shows anywhere and even if they are curvy, dresses always seem to fit so seamlessly??
Well, it’s probably because they know where to find the right underwear and the good news is: Now we know too! SPANX is now for sale in the Netherlands and has great bodies that makes you look your best in every outfit. Samia already got one and is very happy with the result.

You can find SPANX at Bijenkorf and there’s other lingerie stores that sell it too (bra’s, underwear, bodies…the collection is vast!). This is not only for big sizes, of course but for everyone that finds VPL’s (Visible Panty Lines) annoying!

Samsung Galaxy Camera: Share your photos with the world!!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Samia tested the Samsung Galaxy camera with Wifi and was totally sold. As you know Samsung phones are well known for taking great pics but this is a camera with many options AND you can retouch and all kinds of other photo editing right on the machine. After that, you can immediately share your work on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, so it’s super handy. I saw some of the photos Samia took with this one recently and really loved the outcome. It has the touchscreen that all you Android users out there are used to and for those who are not…there’s a manual, of course!

Must-have: Clarisonic – THE facial cleansing brush

Samia got the chance to test the Clarisonic brush (she received it at the Gift Suite event we recently blogged about!) and, as expected, it is as good as they say it is. In fact many beautiful and famous women (like Gwyneth Paltrow, Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Watts andJessica Alba) swear by it. The great things about the Clarisonic brush are many, but let’s name a few:
- You can use your own facial cleansing product
- Your face is totally clean in 1 minute only, so no extra time investment
- Pores are refined and the skin clearly looks better and feels softer after two weeks of usage
- The brush only cleans and does not exfoliate so it is NOT aggressive. This means you could use it twice a day, if you wanted to.

Samia is totally sold and can testify it improves the skin tone and texture. The brush is light and can easily be taken anywhere, for those who travel, and also, very importantly, it charges fast and lasts long without charging. We from Frenchonista are thinking….why use a brush for our teeth only when we can use one for our face as well!?
It just makes perfect sense.

Korres Hair Gel At Cosmania

Dear Frenchonista’s,

As you all know we are big fans of Cosmania, the Webshop by lovely Marije and Marcel. They have now opened a brand new store in Amsterdam (Herenstraat 19). What they sell is all kinds of wonderful and high quality cosmetics and beauty products, many of which we from Frenchonista religiously use. Basically they have products that you can’t find anywhere else, and their new store is amazing. The online experience they provide is super great as well (that’s what we first fell in love with!!) and it will keep existing the way it always has (good for your writer, as a working single mom.)

Now Samia has discovered a new product they sell, this time the hair gel by famous Greek brand Korres. Samia is currently growing her hair back and since it’s thick and curly, the “in between phase”, from short to long, is a tough one. Obviously as a designer and fashion blogger she still wants to look fabulous and hair is…well….MAJOR! So Korres has this amazing Lime Grapefruit Strong Hold gel that keeps Samia’s hair in shape and that she now officially can’t live without anymore!

Samia’s Birthday Party AND the opening of The Arabic Lounge!!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Last Friday we had the best party ever!!

The sun was shining, the champagne was flowing, the oysters were to die for and everyone felt – and looked – amazing!

And where was this, you may ask??

It was the much expected opening of the Arabic Lounge, combined with the birthday party of Frenchonista’s Samia, who did the interior design of the place, and very well at that! The restaurant will open for guests this week and we got to inaugurate it with great bites, gorgeous girls wearing trays of drinks and cupcakes, great belly dancing (not by us – but we danced afterwards!), and, last but not least, the best people!

The Arabic Lounge is on Frederik Hendrikkade 194, on the “city side” of Nemo, so it’s really easy to reach. The entrance is shared with Noah’s Ark, just look for the beautifully decorated Lounge on the left when you come in.The restaurant will feed you delicious 1001 Arabian Night-like food, so check it out, and….uhm……if Samia ever decides to throw a party again, please make sure to be there!!!

TIP: WELLNESSBOERDERIJ: MUST GO SPA!!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

We want to make sure you know about the Wellnessboerderij (wellnessfarm) in Egmond aan Zee (yesss, an antique farm close to the sea!!).

Samia went some time ago and came back home completely relaxed. What’s great about the Wellnessboerderij? First of all, you can arrive the evening before, settle in, have dinner somewhere at the seaside and then sleep in one of their cosy luxury rooms. Then the day after, only you and a small group of other guests (so not the crowds you see in other spas!!) get to enjoy amazing treatments for your body and face (and obviously your mind ).

The antique farm is beautifully decorated and so are the guest rooms. The great thing is that it’s in a quiet area, so you will take a complete break from everyday life. The personal attention is great and the possibility to stay the night makes it a mini holiday, instead of a day at the spa.

Now that it is the holiday season you could combine this with a day at the beach, or go in autumn and take a walk along the beach beforehand….you’ll feel miraculously revived!
