Harper’s Bazaar is coming to the Netherlands!!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

After Vogue now also one of the first fashion magazines of all times, Harper’s Bazaar, is coming to the Netherlands. The first edition will come out in September. We are very excited that yet another iconic fashion magazine will be launched in the Netherlands and since we’ve seen the team that’s on it (with Cecile Narinx as editor in Chief), we just know it will be successful.

A few weeks ago there was a wonderful opening with both Harpers Bazaar and the Kahmann Gallery in Amsterdam. The gallery joined forces with the magazine for the exhibition “New York New York” and everyone had an amazing time!

Keep an eye on the racks in September and don’t miss the first edition of our own Harper’s Bazaar!

L’Occitane – Essential Water and the Immortelle line

Dear Frenchonista’s

We think it’s Essential to always use at least a few L’Occitane products and that’s why you’ll often see L’Occitane updates from us. We just love the brand and, of course, they’re French… ;-)
Speaking about Essential, one of their newest ranges has Essential Water (Eau Essentielle) with biological flower water from the Immortelle flower from Corsica. The whole line really makes you look forward to that quiet moment at the end of the day, that moment in which you clean your skin and get it ready for the night.

Hoda Magazine Bloggers event!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Samia and Ovo went to Hoda Magazine’s third bloggers event and they had a blast! Hoda’s Magazine is made especially for the stylish Moroccan-Dutch ladies among us and is going strong! Great Arabian and Western fashion (with or without head scarf) and, well, all the other things we women want to read about!
The event was organized by our girl Hoda Hamdaoui, of course (after whom Frenchonista named one of her most gorgeous clutches!), very talented founder and editor-in-chief at Hoda magazine. It was yummy (great food), tantalizingly perfumed (arabian fragrances), instructive (lots of interesting information about entrepreneurship, especially in Veenendaal but also beyond), Fashionable (Hazanah fashion) and lots and lots more…

We had a great time and are cheering for many more years of Hoda Magazine!

Hand of Fatima: Henna for your events and must haves for your home and bathroom!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Fatima Oulad Thami, which we met at the Las Dalias fair, has a very nice web shop with all things Moroccan and she is available for your events by making beautiful Henna designs on your hands. Ovo did this on the Las Dalias event and it looked gorgeous.
On her website she also sells all the products you need to make your own henna art and it’s the perfect place to find moroccan products for your skin, too (like Argan oil, one of the best beauty products ever). Fatima also uses her henna artistry on products like candles and paintings and more, so it’s a definitely a very good place to look for original gifts. We from Frenchonista, as you know VERY inspired by Morocco and with our gorgeous Fatima clutch in the collection, are so with her and have added www.handoffatima-webshop.nl to our favorite web shops already.

GOSH eyeshadow sticks – even when you hate eyeshadow!

 

Dear Frenchonista’s

I hate eyeshadow. Well…I love it but I’m bad at applying it and it just never seems to look right on me. Now I discovered the GOSH eyeshadow sticks (for just 9,79 euro at Kruidvat!) and I’m hooked. It’s easy to apply and to blend and really does the trick. No parabens and water resistant.
What’s not to love??

Aveda update for dry hair!

 

Dear Frenchonista’s,

If you suffer from dry hair, whether it be winter or summer, Aveda’s lab has discovered a fruit in the rain forests of Brazil. It comes from the Moriche palm, or rather “the tree of life” and it brings softness, hydration and a velvety softness. It also doesn’t weigh down the hair, although it’s oil. It can be used after washing before styling or, if you really suffer from a bad case of dry hair, also to be used as leave in treatment after styling.
